To Louie and the entire Mazzarini family I send my deepest sympathy on the loss of Betty.Over forty years ago Betty became a leader of the Maverick Street Mothers. This group of strong women formed a human blockade in front of gigantic fill trucks to protest the expansion of Logan Airport at the end of Maverick Street.Betty was fearless, passionate and articulate about the injustice of airport expansion and the negative impacts on the East Boston community. Her strong voice and commitment to fairness will be missed by all of us.Love.Mary Ellen
