To all the Blake Family,
Our sympathies as we all grieve and miss "Aunt Florence" (to me) or "Flossie" as she liked to be called. She was a joy to all: Her siblings, her parents, her children, and grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, and her friends. Sharp as a tack, remembering the past and living in the present, and so generous of spirit. Gail Higgins Fogarty, Providence, RI

Aunt Florence was the sweetest Higgins' relative ever. I have fond memories of her during my trips to the Higgins farm in Blackstone.
She would always greets us with a terrific smile.
Delight us with stories of the Higgins' clan, can't imagine having that many sibling.
I remember showing us city folk how to use the wood burning stove, and show us how to pump water from the underground well. It wasn't the clearest water ever, but I drank it just the same. "Mmm, is that Massachusetts I'm tasting? Lots of minerals."
To a sweet, classy lady, Aunt Florence will be missed by many.

To the Blake family: Deepest sympathies to all. I grew up with stories of 'old' Blackstone and the Higgins family and it was often that one of the Higgins visited my parents. There were 3 Scott boys to 3 Higgins girls and 6 Scott girls to 6 Higgins boys. Usually there was a Higgins and a Scott in each school grade as they grew up. Following the death of my parents I use to communicate with Florence on a fairly regular basis. Itis an end of an era and I know I will miss her being there.

Aunt Florence was the last of a great generation of siblings reared on the farm in Blackstone. As the baby of the family it was fitting that she lived nearly a century witnessing many great changes in her 94 years. I will always enjoy listening to her recollections of life on the farm on the DVD we will always cherish. She and Ray raised a remarkable family, too, and it was great she was able to die peacefully at home with them by her side.
