Dear Jan & Family,

No one will ever know what ALS does to a family until they have gone through it before. It is so hard. I am sure all of you made Fran's last few years as happy as you could. He was a great human being. He will always be part of you. Never forget...God only takes the best. You all are in our prayers.

To The Delaney Family: My deepest sympathy to you all. I worked in Fran's MCS organization at Compaq in Lexington. I think he was the happiest when one of his daughters would visit and have lunch (subs) with him at that facility. He would smile from ear to ear when family was around. He will remain in our hearts forever.

To Fran's family,

I am so saddened to hear of Fran's passing. I knew Fran starting in the DEC days and had the utmost respect and admiration for him. He was universally loved and admired as a fair and highly competent manager and friend. My heart goes out to all of you. Know that we are all a bit better for having known him.

Please except our deepest sympathy over you’re lost. As many have expressed, Fran was truly a great person. Words can't begin to say how sorry I am for your loss. Fran was one of my closest friends from the time we had a pushing match in the first grade, all the way thru high school he was my best friend. When we last talked at the Vegas Night fundraiser was another time he showed what a great man he was.

Take comfort in knowing how happy he was to have had a family like yours. I know it's what he wanted more than anything else in this world.

He was a true friend, like so many others he will always be in our thoughts.

Dear Family,

I am saddened by the news of Fran's passing, but priviledged to have worked for Fran for many years at Digital. He was truly a great man, and it is a tribute to him and his legacy that so many people contributed time, effort and money to his foundation. I will always remember the good times we had over the years, particularly on the golf course. My prayers go out to your family during these difficult times.

I write this more for myself probably than anything else. Because you already know how special your dad was.I am the youngest of the 2 million Delaney cousins!! When I was young my dad would take me to see Fran play softball at Columbus or Tufts Park.He would tell of the records he had as a little league star.He would tell what a good kid that Franny was! He also that pretty girlfriend everybody called Pidge. There's was the first wedding I ever went to,Montavale Plaza. At 7 years old I wanted to be Fran Delaney. The years went by and you'ld see everyone at events like this. The news came that Fran was sick and I saw how he handled it.I saw the people that over the years he must have touched.I have seen the family he and Pidge have raised. The love and caring that people have shown at all the events.Little Jackie is 40 now and I have 3 wonderful children of my own. I can only hope to be half the man Fran Delaney was!! God Bless.

It has been my sincere pleasure to meet all of you and it has touched my heart dearly to know Fran. You have all showed such a close family bond that I guess I just never noticed so tight before. May you all just stay closer than ever and keep Fran's memory alive forever.

Jan & Family

I was saddened to here about Fran's struggle over last last few years from Owen. There is certainly very real pain and sorrow of death's physical separation. I hope faith keeps us believing that we will all meet again in a better place. It must be one good place with all the old South Medford crowd together. Seems so long ago we were cruising the streets without a care in the world.

Thoughts and prayers for continued strength in the days and months to come.
