Frances had a heart as big as a house. She was loved by many and will be missed. May God comfort all of us who mourn, and especially her children.

To the Cardullo Family,
Sorry for your loss. Francis was a bright face to see at Dana Farber when I took my brother Ed in. They were friends from work. Francis would bring her phone in for Ed to fix while they were getting treatment together. She was so nice to everyone bringing in chocolates to make everyone smile. She fought a great fight and is now smiling from above. Jeannine Ricks Montgomery and Edward Ricks

So sorry to hear about her death. Wonderful shop - a fixture in Harvard Square, and by all accounts, she was a lovely person.

To the Cardullo family,
It was only this morning, while calling the store from North Carolina, that I spoke to Donez and learned that my friend Frances had left the bonds of this earth and gone to a place of eternal happiness.
A place where she can look down and be proud of her special children and a place where she can go out and do her photography without worring about bad weather.
Fairwell my dear friend Frances.
Your affairs are in good hands and all your friends miss you.
Some day I shall see you again and we can enjoy the friendship we had once again.
Leave the light on for me.

I, like many of the entries, knew Francis from the store, having met her when she was Frank, (with a pony tail) in 1995. My father, who also owned our business at the time, introduced us back then. Cardullo's became my account and one of my favorite customers as I learned the retail chocolate business. Since that time I have enjoyed many meetings and conversations and more recently emails with this special person.
I wish all of the family strength and a quick passing of the deep sadness from the death of a parent. In time, I am sure there will be wonderful happy memories of another of the great classics of our time.

To the Cardullo Family:
I met Francis when we both were serving in the National Guards in the '60's. We have been friends since.
This is a sad day - to lose a person who gave so much. Frances put a smile on every face she met. Her desire to learn and explore never left... a lesson we all can learn from Frances.
From all her friends at the Studio Forum.

Frances will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her; I had known her since I was a young man, as did my late partner Peter Duggan who bought his sandwiches from Frances when he attended Longy in the 60's. This was a woman of honor and valor and humor.

My friend Francis Cardullo's other great passion was computers and the internet. Francis, his wife and I spent many a late night working on the store's servers and database management.
A professional jet pilot, firearm expert, hunting dog trainer, rancher/farmer and so much more.

Just a written expression of my sadness, joined with yours. I only met Frances about 9 or 10 years ago. Frances was, indeed, a, "magical," person. Although I never met Frances' Dad, Francis N., I talked with him many times, when I was a Buyer at the old (and former) John Sexton & Co. If I couldn't get a speciality food item I needed, I called Cardullo's. If by some strange chance, your Store didn't stock it, he'd tell me who did.
Frances and I always met at the Summer Fancy Food Show, in Manhattan.
Frances was the type of person, that within minutes, after just meeting, you felt as if you'd known each other, "forever."
Many, many happy moments. We could talk about food (we both knew many of the same vendors), we could talk about fashion and style, and we both liked Gershwin. A few years ago, we went to see a special Gershwin presentation together.
I did the eulogy at my Dad's Funeral many years ago. Francesca, you said it very well, "you celebrate the life." Your Dad will always be in your heart. As I told my daughter one year, (she's a cook, too.), "if you live to be a hundred, and I'm still alive, you will still be, "Daddy's Little Girl." Frances was blessed doubly, two of, "Daddy's Little Girls." You and your brothers knew a Francis, that I never met.
Sincerely,
Susan Pauline Bauer

To the Cardullo family,
Our condolences to you all.
As a friend since our meeting in 1956 at Winchester High School Francis became a close and dear friend to both of us. His genius and generosity were legendary. He could do (and did!) anything and everything. The lives he touched are beyond counting. He will be missed.
With much love, Sandra and George Kean.

Francesca, Donez, Francis "Junior",
My deepest, heartfelt condolences on your dad's passing. He was a great person. He was a true legend in every sense of the word. He will be truly missed by everyone Harvard Square. This season's Red Sox Games WILL NOT BE THE SAME without your dad pulling up in the truck and sounding the air horns to announce his and Theo's arrival.

To the Cardullo family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked for your Dad and his parents, Mary & Frank in the 80's and they were all so wonderful to me. Everytime I was in Harvard square I stopped by the shop and visited with Francis. I will always remember all of them very dearly and will always be grateful for that opportunity of being employed by such a nice family.
