Francis O'BOYLE Obituary
Born in Malden, MA on June 15,1933, the youngest child of Francis Joseph and Helen "Nellie" Carr O'Boyle. Frank joined the U.S. Navy at age 17. He served with honor as a radio operator aboard the USS Ammen, during the Korean War. After returning home, he became a USPS Letter Carrier and he met the love of his life, Kathleen "Katie" Hickey, at a dance and they had five sons. Frank retired from the USPS after 39 years.
Frank was predeceased by his wife, Katie, after 63 years of marriage. Frank is survived by his five sons and four daughters-in-law, Daniel and Susan O'Boyle of Saugus, MA, John and Leslie O'Boyle of Kailua, HI, Brian O'Boyle and Ruthann Famolare of Malden, MA, Francis and Michelle O'Boyle of Wellington, FL and Paul O'Boyle of San Diego, CA.
Frank was also the beloved Papa of 13 grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Brandon, Rachel, Brian, Christopher, Kevin, Patrick, Matthew, Megan, Sara, Xavier and Maeve. He was predeceased by his older sister and brother-in-law, Rena and Jack Cork; his older brother, William Flanagan; and her daughter-in-law, Saorzznoia O'Boyle.
A Celebration of Life will be held at White Horse Beach, Manomet, MA, where Frank and Katie and their sons spent many happy summer days.
The family would also like to extend their gratitude to Frank's caregivers, Patty Gould, Debi Matthews, Patricia O'Boyle, Heidi Lucero, Elizeth Figueroa and Janie Gonzales, who loved and cared for him during the last two and a half years of his life.
Frank's wish is to be remembered as a "stand-up guy" and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
