GARY H. KREPPEL

KREPPEL, Gary H. Gary Howard Kreppel passed away peacefully on July 3, 2021 after a courageous battle with 2 cancers. Born in Bridgeport, CT, the son of Phyllis and Joseph Kreppel, Gary grew up in Stratford and graduated from Andrew Warde HS in Fairfield, CT. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, taught school for a year upon graduation and then attended New England Law/Boston where he was the Editor of the Law Review and graduated Magna Cum Laude. After Law School, he worked for the National Labor Relations Board in Minneapolis and a few private entities before returning to Massachusetts to start a private practice in 1984. He was a member of both the Mass. and Minnesota Bars. While in private practice, he returned to New England Law/Boston as an adjunct professor in Labor Law for 20 years. Gary is survived by his "first wife" Joyce of almost 47 years. This was how he always introduced her! Also survived by his son Michael (Nia Lutch) of Wayland, two beautiful and fabulous grandchildren, Caroline and Henry and his adored dog, Zipper. Also survived by his sister Nova Matarazzo (Michael) and their 2 children, Phoenix and Luke. Gary and Joyce lived in Framingham and Southborough for years and wintered in Naples, Florida since 2002. They recently purchased a property in Wells, Maine. Other than his immediate family, dogs were his first love. After having had a rescue dog from Puerto Rico, who he adored, Gary got involved with the organization who had brought Chopin to the Mainland. Helping All Satos Rescue, Inc. became Gary's passion starting with donations. Gary went on to volunteer and build a relationship with Humane Society Naples in Florida and they agreed to let Gary sponsor some Sato rescues to their Shelter. All of the staff, volunteers and adoptive parents loved their new Satos. Such began a long term relationship between Gary, All Sato and HSN with approximately 1,500 dogs being sent to HSN and now some surrounding shelters in Florida. For all Gary did for HSN, he was awarded The Animal Advocate of the Year Award in 2017. Representatives from All Satos Rescue flew in from Puerto Rico to attend the presentation. To Gary, this was one of the biggest achievements of his life. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, July 5 at 11:45 am at Sharon Memorial Park.
