I will always remember Henry with affection. He was an intelligent and kind colleague with a great sense of humor. It goes without saying that he continues to be missed.

I met Dr Gewirtz on the tragic occasion of 9/11 in MGH ; I came from Israel enthusiastic to attend the ASNC conference ;I was supposed to present a poster (depicting thallium SPECT late reversibility) in the (ultimately cancelled ) ASNC sessions and since having been stranded in town, I headed to the MGH nuclear cardiology department and introduced myself to Dr Gewirtz as a Cedars Sinai LA nuclear cardiology (Dr DS Berman director ), fellow of 1997-8 and CBNC #1036 certificate holder , interested to watch reading of nuclear tests . He escorted me to the reading room . Following this activity I felt somehow satisfied that despite conference cancellation , thanks to him , I filled time with some professional activity.

I just heard of this, and was so saddened to hear of Henry’s passing. I hope Nancy and Henry are sailing in a sea of love once again.

I was privileged to be Henry's travel planner for over 35 years. Without a doubt the kindest, sweetest, appreciative, and determinedly adventurous man (and his wife) I have had the pleasure of working with in my last 50 years. I would joke each time he called, "Henry, Why can't you just go to Paris?". Or after each accident, "Now please be careful and don't fall off the bike, or you can't go on your trip." I loved this man, and will miss him greatly. Rebekah, Aaron, and children--you know what a treasure he was, and those who knew him share your great loss. My husband Steve and I extend our profound sympathy to your family.
