WHIPPLE, Herbert S. 77, of Needham, July 4, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer. Beloved husband of the late Nancy (Mitchell) Whipple. Loving father of Diane Conde of Townsend, Linda Egan and her husband Tom of Medway, Herbert Whipple and his wife Cindy of Marshfield, Thomas Whipple and his wife Amy of Colchester, CT and the late Ellen Rains. Brother of Robert Whipple, Joan Chisholm, Ronald Whipple and David Whipple. Beloved grandfather of 10 and great grandfather of 2. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham on Thursday, July 10th from 4 to 7 pm. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Bartholomew's Church, Needham. Interment will be in Needham Cemetery. Graduate of Boston Trade High School Class of 1954, served in the Army National Guard, 52 year member of the Plumbers and Gasfitters Union Local 12 and employee of Bay State York in Boston for over 20 years, retiring in 1992.
