I have an envelope in my
briefcase with notes, letters,
and a series of memo’s from
Jim Boyd on 4x8 sheets of
paper. These memo’s always
complimented you on things
you were doing well, and
encouraged you to work at
an area you could improve.
I reread they often and have
applied them to both my business
and personal life. These memo’s
make people want to work for
you, not have to work for you.
There are people we meet in life
that make us better people,
JCB was one in my life.

New gets here slowly. I met Jim as one of his employees of Boyd Corp Cambridge MA in the 70's. He later gave me part of his business as a mutually beneficial agreement. He was gracious then and I see from the other comments he was that way to the end. He was a great unselfish guy who helped many others.

I first met Mr Boyd several years ago when he was selling his house in Richmond. My first quick visit to his house turned into several hours as we enjoyed talking about the Red Sox. My son still has the "Big Papi" book - Mr Boyd gave him. I looked forward to my annual calls to him to buy Red Sox tix each January. You learn alot about someone when you sell their home - a very gracious man. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

To the entire Boyd family,
I was so sorry to read about Jim's passing...it was truly a pleasure to work for your husband/father and the Boyd Corporation...I started with them back in 1972 when they were in Cambridge and stayed with them through the move to Woburn and unfortunatley had to leave in 1987...Jim was a very kind and pleasant man to work for and I have many happy memories of my time there...especially in planning the Mt. Washington trip where a great time was had by all...My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family at this most difficult time..

Amy, I'm so sorry for the loss of your father. I never had the chance to meet him, but I see the rich essence of both your parents through the strength, grace & wisdom (we won't even go into brain power!) they passed on to you. The darn thing about fathers is that God gives you just one - but not only did He pick you a good one, He planted him down here for a solid eighty two years. That's such a gift. And so are you......

Martha, Michael, Tim, Amy, Andrew, Pam and all the grandchildren,
It has been our pleasure to get to know several members of James' family and we are sincerely sad for all of you. It's a tribute to James, and to you Martha, that James leaves behind such a great family.

Clara and I were extremely saddened to hear about Jim’s passing. He was truly a thoughtful, caring and special friend to us. He was devoted to his family, ensuring that he could help resolve issues when they arose. We have such fond memories of playing bridge with him in Charlottesville, Hilton Head and Williamsburg, and the competitive bridge challenge of our unique Dutch scoring system. We have been so fortunate to share part of his life and we will miss him terribly.

Martha and family, we send our deepest sympathy and thoughts.

I was sadden by the news of Jim's passing, but consider myself one of the
lucky people to have known and worked for him. I remember a person telling me at a meeting, that Jim Boyd has class, I couldn't think of a better word to describe him. My prayers are

Martha, Michael, Marty, Laura, Emily and all....Kim, Erin, Natalie and I were just devastated to hear of Jim's death. Jim Boyd was one of the finest human beings I have ever known. He had a way about him that was so down to earth and yet so full of class. He could make you instantly feel at ease. He was a deeply spiritual man and one whom I know God used on a regular basis. I am so thankful that God sent you and Jim to be our neighbors in Richmond, Martha! I will miss Jim's beautiful spirit very much. Please know that you all are in my prayers. Denise Fergusson

Martha,
Words cannot express...
Remember when you two became members of our Kingsmill Duplicate Bridge...it was several years ago and I have enjoyed many an afternoon with you & your Jim...
I also remember that you are Charles Soule's sister and that Jim was Barbara Soule's brother!
Am sure that each of you are a comfort to each other...

We always think that all good things are forever,
Sadly they aren't...
But All Good Memories do last forever...
