Dear Carol, Anna, William, and family ... Thank you for sharing this beautiful service of tribute to our great Redeemer God and Savior, and to His amazingly gifted servant, Jamie. I have wept and rejoiced with you dear ones throughout this time of worship and reflection ... I have known, loved, admired, and prayed for Jamie since I was a college piano student of his inspiring and gifted mother, and had the privilege of being present in the audience at his solo performance at such a tender age, with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. What a gift Jamie has been to all who've known him and his music, and what an earthly loss of Christ's Light and beauty, which he reflected so effectively in all he undertook. Be assured of my continued prayers for you, dear friends, as we greatly anticipate the wonderful reunion to take place in Heaven one day!

It's hard to imagine that someone so full of life as Jamie is no longer with us, but what a huge impact he had in this world. I only crossed paths with him in the many summers at Sarasota, but he left an indelible impression and a trove of fond memories, whether it be performances, classes, or just conversations at the lunch table. To Carol, Anna, and Will, I send my deepest condolences.

I just heard. Such a loss for Carol, family and all of us who knew him as colleague and friend. So many memories from Sarasota Music Festival. Beyond his fantastic musicianship he was always kind, receptive, understanding, and respectful. To paraphrase Dr. Suess, as he so often reminds me, "don't cry because he is gone, smile because he was here."

Our best wishes as well as our condolences to you and to your beautiful family, Carol. David and I were fortunate in having a friendship and mutual respect with Jamie that spanned many years, and we were especially blessed in more recent summers when you, Anna, William, and your parents inspired us with your incredible good will, talent, integrity, dedication, and wit. It was a joy to watch Jamie light up with pride in his exceptional wife and children.
We were touched yesterday by the ceremonial tribute and magnificent music making in the chapel of the First Congregational Church.

My deepest sympathy to Carol, Anna, William, Joshua and Rachel. I feel so fortunate to have studied with Jamie. His patience and hard work gave me the tools to fully express myself. He taught me so much about music, about life and about myself, and I apply his insights every time I pick up my violin or teach a lesson. He was warm, gregarious, and infectiously enthusiastic about music, art, history and life. His profound legacy will continue, and he will be deeply missed.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I had the great privilege of studying with Mr. Buswell years ago at Musicorda after meeting him at Covenant College during a master class, where he invited me to come study with him. We reconnected through email a few months ago, however briefly, and I am glad we did. I will be praying for peace and comfort for your family. Many hugs.
