JAMES A. DONAHUE

1929 - 2015

DONAHUE, James A. Jr. Born April 30, 1929 in Boston, Massachusetts died June 29, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Hospice in Abington, Pennsylvania. Jim was the devoted husband of Helen Baker Donahue of Nassau, Bahamas. Jim and Helen were married 58 years. They have five children. Jim was the son of James A. Donahue, Sr. and Caroline (Castonia) Donahue of Lancaster, New Hampshire. In the 1940's, the family moved from Lancaster to Hudson, Massachusetts where Jim graduated from Hudson High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston. He also served in the U. S. Army in post World War II Germany. After graduating college Jim went to work for one of his college professors, Raymond Gosselin. R.A. Gosselin and Co. pioneered the use of statistics to track pharmaceutical sales and uses. Jim worked for R. A. Gosselin and its successor company, IMS for more than 30 years. After leaving IMS, Jim worked for the AARP Pharmacy in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, and the Express Scripts mail order pharmacy in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Jim was a member of St. Luke's the Evangelist Church in Glenside, Pennsylvania for more than 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Helen; his son James A. Donahue, III and his wife, Deborah, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; son Michael of Doylestown, Pennsylvania; sons George and Stephen, both of Glenside, Pennsylvania; and daughter Ann Marie of Burbank, California; a sister, Sally Eastman and her husband Roger Gilbert of Framingham, Massachusetts; four sisters-in-law, Freda, Mary, Virginia and Juanita Baker of Nassau, Bahamas and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass Friday 11:00AM at Church of St. Luke the Evangelist 2316 Fairhill Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday 7 to 9PM at the William R.
