JAMES R. "JIMMY" HAYES

HAYES, James R. "Jimmy" Of Milton, formerly of Dorchester, passed away on August 23, 2021. Jimmy was the beloved husband of Kristen C. (Valente) Hayes; and devoted father of Beau and Mac. Cherished son of Kevin A. and Shelagh M. (McNeil) Hayes of Dorchester. Loving brother of Genevieve Hayes of Dorchester, Eileen Hayes and Robert Collier of Charlestown, Justine Callahan and her husband Dennis of Reading, and Kevin P. Hayes of Dorchester. Dear son-in- law of Thomas and Kelly Valente of Needham; and brother-in-law of Casey and Brian Valente of Needham. Proud uncle of Neila McDonough and Dennis Callahan II. Loving nephew of Joanne and Thomas Vesey of Charlestown. Jimmy leaves behind many relatives and friends. Jimmy was a devoted husband; father; son; brother; and friend to everyone. His sincere and compassionate heart could be felt by anyone who knew him. His infectious smile and laugh lit up every room he walked into. Those who knew Jimmy, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. In life, Jimmy achieved many things, but one of his proudest accomplishments, alongside being a husband and father, was making his childhood dream of being a professional hockey player come true. Jimmy lived for hockey at a very young age and was determined to have success within his career. The hockey community brought so much joy to his life and will always be a big part of Jimmy. Jimmy will be dearly missed everyday by his countless friends and family. He is loved here on earth as well as in heaven. Visiting Hours in Florian Hall, 55 Hallet St., DORCHESTER, Sunday from 1-8pm. Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church, NEPONSET, Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
