BABEL, Jeanne C. (Carrigan) Age 65 of Norwood, at home surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday Dec. 30. Daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Sullivan) Carrigan. Beloved wife of Victor J. Babel. Devoted mother of Julia C. Babel of Richmond VA, and Darius C. Babel of New York City. Loving sister of Irene Allison of LaJolla CA, Patty Hanbury and her husband Joseph of Needham, Tommy Carrigan and his wife Carolyn of Bryant Pond ME, and Kathy Keleher and her husband Brendan of Burlington VT. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Tuesday Jan. 5 from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD at 8, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington St., Norwood at 9. Interment Private. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Jeanne was the Co-Owner of her family business, Babel's Paint and Decorating Stores. She was a very family oriented and community focused individual. Jeanne also hosted her own cable television program, Let's Talk Business. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Norwood Circle of Hope, PO Box 421, Norwood, MA 02062.

I am so sorry to hear of Jeann'es passing. We met as freshman at Bridgewater in 1968 and became close friends. We drifted apart after college but found each other on Facebook a few years ago where we got caught up on all the wonderful things that had happened in our lives. She loved her family, her work at Babel's and all of the community work she was involved in. I have prayed for Jeanne and her family daily since I saw the poignant picture of her and Julia in the hospital, and read Jeanne's post about her illness. I wept when I read of her passing. Prayers for the Babel and extended Carrigan families. RIP Jeanne,

I have known Jeanne since we were in Kindergarten together at Saint Joes. So many fond memories of the 9 years we were there.... And then also from Needham High School. I was shocked to just now hear of her passing. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She will be missed.

Although I didn't know Jeanne very well, we were casually related by my Marriage to Mary Glennon. Jeanne's presence lit up the room whenever she paid a visit to Mary.
