I consider it an honor and a privilege to have known Jere during his flying days in the 1990's. He was an incredibly cheerful man.

I lived on Gedney St. as a child and attended the Oliver school with Pamela.
I was born with a passion for planes, trains and automobiles. I will always remember our fourth grade field trip thanks to Mr. Burns. It was to Logan airport. We were brought into the control tower to watch the air traffic controllers at work and we got to see the the cockpit of jet airliner. We were then brought on board a DC-3 and seated. Then to our surprise the plane's engines started. We were taken on a flight to Salem over the Oliver school.
To the Burns family please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of Mr. Burns. God Bless you.

To the Burns family: please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of Mr. Burns. The Burns family was a big part of my childhood whether it was serving as your paperboy or a friendly greeting from Mr. Burns. I credit his passion for boating that created that same passion in me as he passed this love of the sea to his daughter Pam who taught me how to sail. I'm sure that he will be dearly missed and I wish the Burns family comfort during this most difficult time.
