JEREMY GROSS Obituary

GROSS, Jeremy A. Of Wenham, left this world too early on August 3, 2024. He was beloved by his wife Kirsten Alexander; stepdaughter, Sadie Alexander; mother, Toby (Barron) Green; father, Kenneth Gross; stepmother, Trish Serratore; uncle, Dr. Peter Gross (Diane Garfield); and siblings, Chris Barron (Lindsay Chambers), Jake Serratore and Kayla Serratore. He was a doting uncle to Samantha Barron Woodard; and especially close to his cousin, Peter Yozell. He had an active and illustrious career as a Freemason. An intellectually insatiable polymath, Jeremy was the smartest person most people ever met, having learned to read at age two and never stopped. He earned a BA in Writing and Literature at the New School, but loved math (especially algebraic geometry) most of all. Jeremy studied pure mathematics at the doctoral level at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He held an MS in Mathematics and Computer Science from CalState U. East Bay. After teaching mathematics, Jeremy became a specialist in healthcare data, working on large-scale healthcare systems for InterSystems, Data Robot, American Well and most recently, VetsEZ, which supports the VA. He was a humanitarian and member of the Wenham Human Rights Committee. Graveside Services will be held at Shirat Hayam Cemetery-Beth El Section, 506 Lowell St., Peabody, on Tuesday, August 6, at 11:00 AM, with remembrances following the interment at Temple Bnai Abraham, 200 East Lothrop St., Beverly, 12:15 to 3:00PM, where Jeremy had his bar mitzvah at age "13x4". Friends and family are invited to a Memorial led by Amicable Lodge, on Saturday, August 10, at 3:00PM, at the Cambridge Masonic Temple, 1950 Massachusetts Ave., Porter Sq., Cambridge, MA 02140. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, MA. For online condolences and directions, go to www.goldmanfc.com Goldman Chapel, Malden

Considering his absolute genius I feel I would have loved him as a person. His brother´s eulogy was the cherry on top for what an amazing person he was. My condolences to his family.

Did not know Jeremy, however due to his brothers amazingly passionate postings on his behalf on Threads, I feel a part of the fabric of his life & wish I´d known him better while he shared his brilliance on this good earth.
Never having had a sibling, I cannot imagine the grief. Hard enough losing my mom during Covid & never feeling I did enough - my only real parent. Comfort in feeling in spirit she´s closer now. Maybe Chris will feel the same?
Sending blessings.

It's been 35 years since I last saw the prophet and not a year has passed since then that I did not occasionally and fondly think of both his Buddha-like presence and his Fordian curiosity. Mostly I just thought of him smiling. My hugs to Chris and his family and all the extended folks from NYC in the late 80's and early 90's. Love up.

My condolences to Jeremy's family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with Jeremy for several years and developing a friendship with him. Jeremy was brilliant, but also had the gift of being able to communicate his knowledge in a comprehensible way. Jeremy was not afraid to take on difficult problems; on the contrary, he relished the opportunity to untangle difficult questions. He was kind, generous, and very funny. He will be greatly missed.

I never had a conversation with Jeremy in which I didn't learn something new and start thinking in a fresh way. He was brilliant, yet always interested in what everyone else had to say...and he just oozed kindness from every pore. We were blessed to have him in our Lodge and in our lives. May his memory truly be a blessing, and may we keep him alive in our thoughts and in our hearts.

Jeremy Gross was such a man that I will spend the rest of my life mourning--not just him, but all the moments we planned to have together but won't, now. I can't write anything more because no matter what I try to write, I hear him saying it better. My deepest condolences to his family and everyone else who loves him.

Heartbroken to learn this news, as one of his many internet friends. We knew him as Tikkun Olamunist, and will carry on in that spirit. Wishing you all care and comfort. May his memory be a blessing.

A kind, brilliant, funny and deeply moral person, Yermi's thoughts about Judaism and justice were a gift I will always be grateful for.

I'm so sorry we've lost such a sweet soul. I didn't know Jeremy long, but whenever anyone had an issue, he would personally reach out. He made me personally feel anything I needed was an incredibly important for him. He was so sincere and kind to everyone on our project and never once sounded stressed or negative. I'm sorry to you, his family and close friends.

Jeremy touched so many at work in such a short time, I can't imagine how devastating a loss this is for you.

Please accept my most heartfelt sympathy and prayers. You are in my thoughts, please take care.
