To the Cotter Family, Your Dad was a Great Man. He had a tremendous task assigned to him, watching over us 7-9th graders at Bicknell Jr High. He was not like other principals that you may have feared...he was quiet, patient and just....mostly we deserved what ever he gave us, plus more.....we were lucky to have known him.

We are so sorry to hear about Uncle Jack. Many of my friends from No.Weymouth would ask me to put in a good word for them when they found out Jack Cotter was my uncle. His kindness and gentle spirit reached far and wide.It was one of his former students who sent me an email about his passing, from Little Rock, Arkansas. She has fond memories of your Dad.
May all your good memories carry you through this difficult time. We will miss both your Mom and Dad here in Ft. Myers. We enjoyed our visits each year.

Dear Cotters,
Mr. an Mrs. Cotter were such a staple memory of my youth. Whether it was "Confundo" getting together on the weekends (Yvonne and Leo, Bobby and Jeanne, The Keatings, and my folks), the very memorable Memorial Day cookouts, to the great times we had on Hope Rd. I know that your mom, along with Leo & my folks are celebrating heaven's newest arrival with a strong Manhattan and a Garcia Vega cigar. You are in my thoughts. Billy McCarthy (Taunton, MA)

Dear Cotter Family,

I am so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. He was my principle at Bicknell Jr. High during the 70's and he would always be out of his office when we were arriving at school and greeting us, and I remember that one day the Blizzard of 78, we were only in school for a couple of hours and he came on the loud speaker to tell everyone we were being dismissed early because of the storm and once again he was standing by the door telling all of us to have a great day and be safe and we told him the same thing also.
He really cared about the students at Bicknell and no one ever said one bad thing about him. My deepest sympathies go out to your entire family and god bless this new angel.
