JOHN CROWLEY Obituary

CROWLEY, John Joseph Of Braintree, 80 years of age, a retired Boston Police Department Detective, entered Life Eternal at the South Shore Hospital on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. He was born in South Boston and graduated from English High School and attended Franklin Institute and Wentworth Institute in Boston. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He joined the Boston Police Department as a patrolman in 1965 and thereafter became a detective and retired in the year 2000. He was a member of the Boston Police Department Patrolman's Relief Association and the retired Detective's Association. He resided in Braintree since 1987. He is the beloved husband of Ellen T. (Lyons) Crowley. He is the devoted father of Sean Crowley of Plymouth, Kelly Ann Crowley of Spring Hill, FL, Mark Crowley married to Deborah Crowley of Plymouth, Kathleen Crowley of Plymouth, Eamon Edge of Connecticut, Lt. Liam Crowley, US Navy of Tampa, FL, and Caitlin Crowley of Goffstown, N.H. he is also survived by 8 grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters Barbara Crowley of Yarmouthport and Mary Ryan of South Yarmouth. He was the brother of the late Robert Crowley. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck–Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, BRAINTREE, on Monday, February 15th from 4-8pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 16th at 9:30am to be followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, South Braintree Square, at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Memorial donations may be sent to the Retired Boston Police Officer's Association, 1708 Centre Street, Roxbury, MA 02132 or to Boston Children's Hospital P.O. Jack was a true gentleman he had a great personality and my dad Eddie Walsh loved him I loved listening to the way he could impersonate my dad he had his voice down to the exact voice!!! I will miss him!!!!
