Time passes quickly and we go on with our lives, as we must. But forget John? Never happen. We hear his words, his expressions when we most need them. We are grateful that he still counsels and guides us and we thank him everyday for the man that he is. We may miss his physical presence but are comforted by the very real fact that he is ever with us. We miss you, old friend.

I was so sorry to hear of John's death. When I was at Boston College from 1993-2000, I worked with him in our Development Department. He was such a loyal alum and wonderful volunteer. He will be missed. Debra Ashton, former Director of Gift and Estate Planning.

An outstanding individual, a great leader and good friend who will be missed.
Some people come into your life and are quickly forgotten, others stay for a while and forever change you, John was one of those men you would never forget nor ever replace.
The men and women of MSP Troop E and BCPD salute you and thank you, one last time, for all that you did for us, your family, your friends, the State of Massachusetts and your Country.
Rest in Peace..........

What a gentleman! I first met John at his favorite restaurant - Common Market. Little did I realize we lived at the same senior living complex. Thereafter, while riding together to and from the restaurant, I had the opportunity to hear of Johns deep love for his family and challenging events he successfully resolved while working for the state of Massachusetts and Boston College. My sincere condolence to Johns family and Peg. John will surely be missed by many. RIP

What a giant of a man! My best day ay Boston College was meeting John when I came to work there in 1997. He showed me the ropes, advised me, befriended me. We talked a lot about things of a far-reaching nature, from Boston politics, to human nature, mutual friends, university politics and most importantly, what it meant to live a life of meaning and grace. My best friend growing up lived in the house John's dad built and in which he grew up in Jamaica Plain. Weren't we surprised to discover that commonality! And my mother knew his brother Nicky, another surprise. He also gifted me with happy days playing golf as his guest at Cummaquid and beat me every time! He was so very kind to my wife Susan when he first met her. Her dad, with whom she was very close, had just died and John showed her such compassion that a special bond grew between the two. So many more stories to tell but I risk boring you all. But I'll always remember them with gratitude thanks to this good and kind man. Thank you for the gift of your father. He came into our lives at just the right time and thank you for the gift of meeting some of you. It has been a great pleasure and an honor.
