GALLIVAN, John F. Of Winthrop, on April 13, 2018 after a long illness. Beloved son of the late Joseph A. and Frances M. (Honan) Gallivan. Loving brother of Paul J. and his wife Laura J. Gallivan of Milton, the late James R. and his wife Catherine E. Gallivan of Winthrop, Jean M. and her husband Thomas M. Curtis, Jr. of Lowell, and Joseph A. Gallivan, Jr. of Winthrop. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends who were considered family. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home, 210 Winthrop St., Winthrop, on Monday, April 23rd at 9 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, April 22nd from 2 to 5 p.m. Long-time employee of Boston Ship Repair and a member of the Shipbuilders Union Local S25; member of the Pleasant Park Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mass General Cancer Center in support of lung cancer research.
