MARQUIS, John Of Lexington, on June 13, 2011. Husband of Lorain (Massucco) Marquis. Loving father of John Marquis and his wife Shari of Burlington and Kevin Marquis and his wife Jill of Billerica. Grandfather of Emily and Sam; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Brother of Dorothy Eyre of Cumberland, RI and the late Rita, David, Virginia, Tommy, Kenny, Richard, Donald, Robert, and Joan. Visiting hours in Shawsheen Funeral Home, 281 Great Rd., BEDFORD on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 5 to 8 pm. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will be with Full Military Honors in MA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, One Harvard St., Brookline, MA 02146-9795 are appreciated. Veteran of U.S. Navy, stationed on the USS Enterprise; also veteran of U.S. Army National Guard. Retired from Lexington D.P.W. Water Dept. Lorain and Family:

It is with great sympathy that I write this note to you on your loss of Jack. While being well aware that the end was near, the reality hits hard! I will truly miss him.
I have known Jack for many years, and he was always there to support and assit me in many endeavors.
While I am unable to attend this evening, my thoughts are with you. I hope to be able to attend on Thursday Evening.

The final muster has been set and k has answered the call. 1SG Jack Marquis faced this last battle gallantly. I am proud to have served with him in both the 182nd and 181st Infantry. He was a soldiers soldier. I knew him well, and will truly miss him.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Jackie's passing, I'll always remember my visits to Lexington and mostly when Uncle Jackie made me a delicious chicken dinner and then told me it was rabbit after I ate it! He was one of a kind. You will be missed Uncle Jackie.
