To the "other" McCarthy family:

Just got back from vacation and heard the sad news about your beloved dad. I'm sure he will be sadly missed by his loving family and has left many happy memories behind. Sorry I wasn't at the services to offer any comforting words, but my thoughts are with you all now. Feel proud that you had a chance to be part of his life.

Dear Grampy,

I love you so much. All of your grandchildren really loved you too. The last time I saw you I remember that you gave me a hug and kiss and gave me a smile. That's the way I will always remember you Grampy. I'll never lose your love. It was so nice having you live so close to me because I would always get to see you a lot. That was really special to me. Grampy I will always love you.

Dear Grampy,

I love you so much with all of my heart. I loved the way you treated everyone of us grandchildren in such a special way. You made sure none of the grandchildren were left out of anything. I loved your sense of humor, you were always laughing about the funny stuff in our family. And after a good fight you were the first person to make a joke about it. GRAMP YOU WERE AN AMAZING GRANDFATHER. AND I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU WITH THAT SMILE ON YOUR FACE. REST PEACEFULLY!

We are so saddened by the loss of your husband, father and grandfather and wish we could be there to express our condolences in person. He was a sterling human being, warm and generous. My dad, Bill Ryan, thought the world of him.

He and all of you are very much in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Uncle Jack,

I would like to take this moment to say how honored I was to have you as an uncle and friend to my family over the many years. My dad was over my house last night and we spent some time talking about you and what you meant to him. It was clear to me that you were a great friend to my Dad and my family and I greatly appreciate that. On a personal note you reminded me alot of my Papa Fitzgerald who I hold on a very high pedestal. Given your service in the Marine Corp and the Fire Dept., it must have been obvious to the outside world that you were a great man. But from someone who knew you through the Barret Clan it was evident that your were a very special father who was very caring and did an exceptional job raising your sons and daughters (along with Aunt Hilda of course). I can only imagine what you meant to your many grandchildren. I know that your family is mourning their great loss but I also know that thier hearts will always be warmed by the memories of their father as my heart is warmed by the memories of my Nana Barrett and Nana and Papa FItzgerald. In closing, my condolences go out to the entire McCarthy family who the Barrett family holds dear to their hearts.

Dad,

You went peacfully to God.

You told me a week or so ago,

"I've had a good life, I have a wonderful family, friends and faith in God. There is nothing else I can ask for"

Truth having been said by dad himself. I would like to thank all the great folks who offered and gave Jack and our family support and kindness in our time of need.

Dad, you will live forever in all of our hearts.

Your son,

Michael
