John McDonough Obituary

Of Lynnfield, formerly of North Reading and South Boston, August 3, 2008, age 89. Beloved husband of the late Grace K. (Cowin) McDonough. Loving father of four daughters, Carol MacHugh and her husband Phillip of North Reading; Mary of Brighton; Catherine Rawson and her husband John of Wilmington and Debra Kulka and her husband Michael of North Reading. Sons, John H. and his wife Donna of Milton and Michael B. and his wife Lisa of Lynnfield. Brother of Harold McDonough and his wife Theresa of Milford, NH. Also survived by eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., NORTH READING, on Friday, August 8, at 9:15 AM, followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St., (Rt. 62) North Reading. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to: Alzheimers Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. He worked for the US Postal Service in South Boston, retiring in 1984. He was a US Army Captain serving in WWII, he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. I know we all feel a terrible emtiness right now. Time will heal these feelings. We will never loose the love and memories we have of Dad. I'm really missing Dad but I'm so grateful to all of you Mickey, Carole, Cathy and Michael for taking care of Dad and I know we would'nt have wanted it any other way.
