John P. "Jack" McGarvey

Lifelong resident of Stoughton, after a long illness, at home, and in the room where he was born, on February 15, 2007, age 76 years. Beloved husband of Gyneth (MacLeod) McGarvey. Loving father of Lorri A. McGarvey of Easton, Lesa E. McGarvey-Campanello and her husband Joe of Stoughton, Paula J. McGarvey of Butte, Montana, Mary A. McGarvey-Smith and her husband Arthur of Knoxville, Tennessee and his honorary son Leif Martinsson of Sweden. Cherished grandfather of Evan Dardano and Jared Dardano, both of Stoughton and Jessica Peters and Daniel Peters, both of Butte, Montana. He is also survived by his two cousins Isabel Cunningham of Bourne and Joanne Kelleher of Canton. John was also the son of the late Peter J. McGarvey (Chief of Police, Town of Stoughton) and Mary (Sims) McGarvey. A celebration of Jack's life will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 11 AM in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk St (off Rt 138 at the Webster Bank), STOUGHTON. The Reverend John Condon from First Congregational Church of Sharon & the Reverend Ernst O. Geigis (Retired) First Congregational Church of Stoughton officiating. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
