John Williams was one of the people I loved most from my years at Weston High School. He was a truly great teacher, and an extraordinary, precious human being. It was a special and privileged comfort, on a visit back to Mass. some time after the sudden death of my partner in 1994., to see him and Bill and to be able to tell them about her. I am so grateful for the encouragement John always granted poetry, and me, when I had the sense to be in touch. My inadequate condolences to Bill. I am so sorry and sad to hear this news tonight... I had John Williams for AP US History--hands down the most interesting (and challenging!) course of my high school career. John was passionate about history, a passion that was contagious. He was a gifted teacher. From him I learned research and critical thinking skills that served me well throughout my University education. God's peace be with him and with Bill, to whom I extend my deepest sympathies.

John embraced life and all the world as a classroom. He was an incredible teacher, fabulous mentor and a very supportive friend. So sorry Bill.

The Weston, Massachusetts community is so saddened at the news of John's passing. He was exemplory as he chaired the Social Studies Department and had such a positive impact on our students and staff. Our deepest condolences.

Our deepest sympathy to Bill from Janet Ghattas, Weston teacher and fellow Rombas committee member, and John Hand. How we loved to cook!

This news came as we plan our 35th WHS reunion and is therefore all the sadder. John was probably the most influential high school teacher for many of us, and definitely for me--taught me to be comfortable with who I am, but also to control my adolescent snottiness and he wasn't afraid to call our Weston "superiority" on the carpet! Bill, my thoughts and sympathies to you
