CRAWFORD, Joseph "Joe" Beloved Husband With Many Friends Passed away on July 15 at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, MA surrounded by his loving husband Luis Ortiz and family members. Joe was born March 4, 1952 in Saugus, MA. Joe was treasured among family and friends for his loving and generous heart and his inquisitive mind. He spent his professional career as an editor at the university level and for medical journals. Joe loved books and the arts, especially classical music. A unique characteristic about Joe was his amazing, inquisitive mind that seemed to hold all the information anyone could seek about many topics. His greatest joy in life was with his long marriage to his loving husband Luis F. Ortiz, whom he met in 1987. Joe was preceded in death by his father John M. Crawford; mother Teresa J. Crawford; and brother John T. Crawford. He is survived by his husband Luis F Ortiz of Hyde Park, MA; brother James J. Crawford of Washington, D.C.; sister Linda M. Crawford of Minneapolis, MN; sister Mary T. Riley of Wakefield, MA; and many loving family members. Visiting Hours: No funeral will be held. A private remembrance will be held the week of July 24, and a public gathering will be held after Labor Day.
