DEVLIN, Joseph "AKA Papa Joe, Jitter & Jailer Joe" of Mansfield formerly of Jamaica Plain, Unexpectedly Nov. 28th Aged 79. Loveable, Charitable, Affable and one of the "Good People" went home to be with the Lord. Beloved husband of Helen (Smith) Devlin. Loving father of Peg Haskell & her husband Ben of Centerville, John & his late wife Elizabeth DevIin of Darien, CT., Helen Petruzziello & her husband Luciano of West Roxbury, Dianne Devlin & her husband John Erickson of Dorchester, Paul Devlin & his wife Nancy of Mansfield, Kevin Devlin & his wife Ginger of No. Attleboro, Kathy Devlin of Mansfield, James Devlin & his wife Pamela of Brimfield, and the late Joey Devlin. Also survived by twenty grand & four great grandchildren. Brother of Anna Devlin Tagliaferro of Boston, Joan McFarland of Mansfield, Kay Judge of Dedham, Helen Joyce of Marshfield and the late Bernard Devlin, Edward "Sonny" Devlin and Sadie McMullen. Funeral from the Kane Funeral Home, 605 Washington St. (Route 138) So. Easton, Mass. Friday at 11:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield at 12:30 p.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at the Kane Funeral Home, Wednesday 5-8 p.m. & Thursday 4-8 p.m. Late undefeated Boxing Champion (16-0) 11 KO's. Late inductee into the New England Boxing Hall of Fame, Former owner of Triple D's Bar & Restaurant Jamaica Plain, Late Retired Correction Officer & President of the Union at Walpole State Prison. Served on the Mansfield Housing Authority and President of the Democratic Committee of Mansfield. Joe loved his sports especially golf at any time and anywhere, an avid lottery player. Joe sponsored & supported many youth and community programs especially the Joseph Downey Football League, Regan Youth Little League, Triple D's Champion Softball teams all of Jamaica Plain. He also sponsored the Triple D's Senior Park League Baseball Team which also won a League Championship for him. Late U. S. Army Korean Veteran. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Mansfield. So sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I just found out yesterday, My Heart goes out to you in this time of sadness. He was a great man, and father. It hard to loose a parent around the holiday's. We lost my dad on the 25th of november a few years back. Again my sincere condolances.

I met Joe when I was a kid. He had just taken over Buddy Hanrahans and made it Triple D's. I was struck at how much of a gentleman he was. He was a good man and well respected. I haven't seen him since then, yet still felt sadness when I read of his passing. That says something. God Bless him and all who loved him
