OLLIN BARBER Obituary

Ollin Kenneth BARBER Age 73, of Seattle, passed away June 16 from COPD. Ken is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda, his children Jason Barber of Seattle and Kendall Culwell (Mike), three grandchildren, Natalie, Lauren, and Sam Culwell of Ladera Ranch, California and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Lockhart, Texas, on May 10, 1938 to Charlie and Ruthe Barber, the youngest of five children. After college and service in the U.S. Army, Ken spent his career as a scientific glassblower for the Chemistry Department at the University of Washington. He retired after 30 years there and then enjoyed volunteering in the woodshop at the Westlake, a residence for formerly homeless men. Ken and Linda commuted between their condo in Madison Park and their home on Anderson Island. He loved sailing, travel, painting, reading and building projects.A memorial service will be held August 13th on the island.

Mom and Dad really enjoyed the times they were able to visit. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to spend more time with him but enjoyed the phone conversations we had. He will be missed.
