When a classmate passes on, since all of us are about the same age, it's a reminder that good health is something to be thankful for and appreciated while we have it. At first it's sad, but it's a little easier moving to thoughts of the happy times we shared in years past as we grew up. My wife, Jay and I knew Joe from grade school through SHS. After graduation, we moved west and didn't see him until our 20th reunion. That memory made me smile as I remembered a photo of the class officers taken that night. There was Billy Connolly, our high school starting quarterback with Joe, starting halfback on the team. And everyone's favorite, Katy McKay. There'll be some who will remember those days and good times. When you think of Joe or other old friends you've known, keep a special memory at the ready and smile at the little things that made life fun.
For no good reason here other than the second photo was in the same folder as this one, I uploaded a 50th reunion photo of a bunch of us having lunch at the Mill Wharf in Scituate. Joe wasn't there with us then, but now I'll associate both of those reunions and the good times and memories we still carry.
Godspeed, Joe.

Played a lot of golf with Joe back in the 60s, along with Guy Ashley and Jim Grip. Good days. The Joe I remember is the one driving the Harvard crew boat in 1967. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing, and send deepest sympathy and condolences to his family.

Joe was a tremendous athlete, father and person. To this day I have nothing but great respect for the whole entire family as i developed a close friendship with Nicholas and William and I will continue to do so. Joes daughter Alex is a worldwide success and her daughter Eliza will continue on the familys legacy at Harvard.
