JOSEPH TIERNEY Obituary

Tierney, Joseph R. "Joe"
Formerly of Norwood, MA and Medfield, MA, passed away on January 3rd, 2013. Joe was born in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood in 1931 to the late Joseph E. Tierney and Alvina (Obey) Tierney. After graduating from Hyde Park High School, he married his high school sweet heart Dorothy Cronin in 1950. He retired from a successful career with Beneficial Finance Corporation in 1989 after which they spent time being with family, travelling and enjoying retirement. He was active in the Hyde Park High Alumni Organization and Rotary International. In their 62 year of marriage, they raised three children - Kathy, Karen and Jim, who are married and provided three grand-children and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his three sisters Betty, Anne, and Jean and their families. Funeral services were private and a memorial service is being planned for the spring.
