I had the opportunity of working with Dr.Merrill as a surgical resident at the Boston City Hospital during the 19070s. He was an excellent teacher, fine surgeon, and consummate gentleman. Keith was a role model to many surgical trainees and an inspiration for us all.

To the Merrill family.
Today I lost a dear friend.
You have lost a father, and for many a grandfather.
We will all miss the Doctor in our own special way; however, his spirit will remain within us all.
A lot of men have said they'd like to - A lot have tried - A lot think they could - but really, the Doctor got it done.
You all have a right to be proud of his legacy.
My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to the entire Merrill family, for these times are never easy.
