At St. Mark's School, at the age of eleven, I met a quiet boy who quickly ranked first in our class. Exceptionally educated parents taught Larry to succeed by his own merits. Over the next six years, Larry always held the first place in scholarship. For academic merit, Larry won every prize the School could offer. His skills carried him to Yale, Harvard Law School, and Ropes and Gray. Despite his astute intelligence, and superior ability, Larry never displayed arrogance. He practiced kindness, generosity, and respect for others. No matter how fierce the competition, Larry's decency and character distinguished him.

Dear Family,
Larry was responsible for influencing me to make an important shift in my career. In the 80s, Larry was our lawyer at Saga Holidays where I was the HR manager. He introduced me to Youth Enrichment Services or YES (he was the Board Chair), where I volunteered by teaching skiing to Boston children and I found my true calling the non-profit world. Ultimately, 25 years ago I founded a Boston non-profit called Santa Claus Anonymous which continues to this day and the annual event is "the SnowBall" to support inner-city children and initally to raise funds for YES. My sincere apologies for this late note. I just learned of this sad news early this morning, and the world is not the same.

Larry's presence will always be felt, such a kind and devoted person. We have many tennis memories of Larry, dating back from when our boys were 8 and 9. So very sad that he has left this world but we will keep him in our thoughts and hearts -- and all of you as you go through this difficult time. Gayle, Dave, Christian and Gabriella Heaney-Secord

We, like everyone who knew him, were deeply saddened to learn of Larry's passing. Although six years have now passed, I remember clearly when we showed up on the New England tennis scene. Noah, Wayne, Alex, Will, Cam, Mesa and Khartik had been playing each other for years. I took Danny to his first few tournaments and watched the parents to learn what was acceptable parental behavior (as you all know, it was quite an education). What stood out to me, as many have commented on, was Larry's calmness and his sense of sportsmanship. I would watch him sometimes at Wayne's place and try to guess if Noah was winning or losing, but I could never tell. When the match was over, win or lose, he would congratulate you and offer a compliment on some aspect of your son's game. Larry's spirit will live on in his children and I see many of his wonderful qualities in Noah. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to know Larry, and I'm appreciative for everything he added to Erica's development, especially in tennis, over the years. We will miss him. Please know that you are in my prayers. With much love.

I am so sad about loosing Larry who was the very first tennis parent I met. I will never forget the very first National Tournament Mesa and Noah played in Chicago 9 years ago. We were on the same plane going there and coming back. Larry was "chauffer" the entire time. I also remember countless times Larry and I sat side by side watching Mesa and Noah play each other. When Mesa and Noah shook hands, Larry and I shook hands too. Please accept my deepest sympathy to Janet, Noah, Eleanor and Caroline. Mesa and I miss Larry and he will always live in our hearts. Peace with Larry.

My heart has wept many tears with the loss of Larry. He was an endearing gentleman who knew how to grace us all with his presence. He was a quiet and humble tennis dad who believed immensely in Noah’s abilities on the court. He was Noah’s truest cheerleader and always exuded calmness during the most crucial points. I looked forward to seeing him at tournaments and talking about subjects other than tennis: his job, politics, the economy and his family. It was a gift to me to have had the opportunity to know a small part of an unforgettable tennis friend and he will always remain very alive in my memories and admiration. His spirit and kindness will live on and I will miss him very much. If there is anything I can do to offer my support to Janet and the children, please call me. May he rest in peace.

It is so sad when one of our New England tennis family passes. Of course we used to see Larry at all the section events and caught up as best we could given our sport's distractions. It always amazed us how fair (and stoic) Larry was and how appropriately supportive he was of Noah. Larry will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go to Janet, Noah and the other Bragg children.

The Revzin family extends its deepest sympathy to Janet, Noah, Eleanor, and Caroline on Larry’s passing. We had the good fortune of meeting Larry at a junior tennis tournament over 10 years ago, and have had the honor of calling him our friend since then. Larry just radiated class. He had a quiet but confident and cheerful demeanor, with a great sense of perspective. We know that Larry was a brilliant man, who worked hard to rise to the top of the legal profession, but who always found the time to give his love, support, and guidance to his family that he truly loved very much. We will miss seeing and talking to him at the tournaments. Life sometimes isn’t fair, but we will remember Larry with a smile and cherish the good memories.

I am so saddened to hear about Larry. He was such a supporter of Noah's tennis, always calmly attending matches and behaving like a model parent, usually with a newspaper in hand. Noah deserves a lot of credit for maintaining his composure and focusing on his games during this difficult time.

Larry was such an amazing person and he always made me laugh. I remember at one tournament down in Maryland, when Noah and Alex were about 12 that we had made plans to drive into DC for a fun afternoon. As it turned out, Wayne was locked in a tight three setter and big Wayne told us to just go on without them. Larry was adament that we would not leave anyone out and that we would all stay to cheer little Wayne on until the end. Larry was very serious when he turned to me and said "after all, being here for one another is what it is all about." I will miss Larry terribly but am grateful for all the wonderful memories that I have.

Larry was a delight to be around at all the tennis tournaments. Despite the early success of his son, Noah, Larry was always humble with pleasant things to say about everyone's game. He will be deeply missed by the New England tennis community as well as Hunter and me.

Larry was a great guy and I admired his calm and intelligent presence as a tennis parent.....and it is not wonder that Noah is such a well behaved, intelligent, and excellent tennis player and person. Like all of us tennis parents, Larry sacrificed a lot for his family and he will be remembered for that.

Larry was a fixture on the New England junior tennis scene for what seemed forever. Noah was an up-and-coming tennis star since he was 8 or 9 and played in 12 and under tennis tournaments for 4 or 5 years and now almost ten years later he is in the 18's and on his way to college to play tennis. I saw Noah in Arizona last week and it was one of the few times I saw Noah at a national tournament without Larry. Larry traveled with Noah and was always a voice of reason and very supportive of Noah who he dearly loved. We'll miss his dry sense of humor and his friendly approach to life. Larry's family will miss him deeply, and the tennis community shares their sadness.

Larry was a great lawyer and colleague. Ropes & Gray has lost one of its all time best and smartest, and he was a great guy, too. I will miss him. Harvey Wolkoff.
