GLUECK, Lawrence Larry Glueck, longtime college football coach dies at 83 On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Lawrence "Larry" Glueck, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and "Coach," was called to Heaven, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on October 5, 1941, in Norristown, PA, the youngest of five children to George and Marian (Gross) Glueck. Growing up in Hatfield, PA, Larry loved horses and sports. He was a standout athlete at Lansdale Catholic High School, earning a football scholarship to Villanova University. At Villanova, Larry was instrumental in the football program's success and appearances in the 1961 Sun Bowl and the 1962 Liberty Bowl. After college, Larry played several seasons for the Chicago Bears and was part of their 1963 NFL Championship team, earning a Masters Degree in Education in the off season from Villanova. He then found his true calling, coaching college football at Penn, Lehigh, Harvard, and Fordham, mentoring hundreds of young men as a positive influence on their lives. Larry and his wife, Kathleen (Glenn), retired to Falmouth, MA. His love of the sea and the Boston Red Sox made it the perfect place to enjoy his golden years. In addition to Kathleen; Larry is survived by his children, Jennifer (and Kevin) Finnegan of Sandy Hook, CT, John (and Jennifer) Glueck of Ocean View, DE and Kristin (and Thomas) O'Sullivan of Scituate, MA; his adored grandchildren, Kevin, Emily, John, Colleen, Aidan, Abby, Andrew and Molly; his siblings, Helen Kerr and James Glueck; and countless nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours will be Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 4-7 pm, at Chapman Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, FALMOUTH, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Church, 167 E. Falmouth Hwy., East Falmouth, MA, Monday, September 8, 2025, at 10 am, with Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetary.
