Dear Fishman Family:
I've been away on sabbatical and only recently learned of the death of Marcia. As a BU faculty member, I knew Marcia on a professional basis as an extremely helpful librarian. However, I always enjoyed chatting with her when I dropped by the library. She had so much to offer to the world with her kind and sensitive nature.
Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Dear Fishman Family,
Marcia's loss has created a void which you will always feel. She was very lucky to have had such a loving family. I feel very fortunate to have known her.

To the Fishman Family,
Marcia and I worked together for nearly 20 years at the library. She often talked about you, her family, with such affection that I felt at times I knew each one of you although I have only met Shelley and Ben.
My life is better for having know Marcia, the world is a lesser place without her.
Shalom, and my sincere sumpathy,
Don Twomey

Marcia had an amazingly luminous soul, which matched her smile. As with all of the Fishmans, I feel lucky to have had our lives cross. I hold you all, as always, in my heart.

I don't have words to express my sadness at Marcia's passing, but also lack the words to describe her in life.
Marcia was a joy. She was one of the most consistently positive people I've ever known, and also one of the most empathetic. Even when things were difficult she lifted up everyone's spirits.
When I passed the news along to my sisters Roberta and Arlene we remembered Marcia's inquisitive mind and great gifts.
We feel for the whole family, with the extraordinarily difficult year you've had. I hope you will take great comfort in the high regard held by those who knew Marcia, remembering how her delightful personality touched so many of us.

In the last few weeks, since my return from Madras, I have been thinking of Marcia. Her image was floating in my mind --- I would see her face 5 or 10 times a week. Today my sister Steffi called with the news of her death and I was completely stopped and sad. Although I was an acquaintance, I had felt an immediate connection.
I'm so sorry for your profound loss.

Phil, Shelley & Joel: I am so sad to hear of Marcia's passing. I looked forward to seeing her each Thursday at MGH when I was fortunate enough to be involved in her care. Thank you for allowing me to see her in the hospital during the last difficult month. She was a remarkable woman, so sweet and devoted to helping us find ways to benefit others battling the same illness. She was blessed to have such a devoted family. I will remember Marcia always as one of my most special patients. May you be comforted by your wonderful memories.
