Margaret Orr BOYD

BOYD, Margaret ("Meg") Orr Haines Age 44, of Lakeville, died unexpectedly from natural causes on May 15, 2024. The loving wife of Brian; and devoted mother of Bryson, age 8, and Jacob, age 5; Meg was a natural mother, an exceptional wife, and incredible super-auntie, daughter, sister, and friend. She grew up in East Bridgewater and was the daughter of Theodore "Ted" Haines and the late Jane Alexander Haines. She excelled on the soccer field and graduated as EBHS, Class of '98 Salutatorian. At UMass Amherst, Meg was a proud member of Phi Beta Kappa, graduated Magna Cum Laude, and made many lifelong friends.

She and Brian married on October 18, 2014. In 2016 and 2019, they welcomed their two boys, Bryson and Jacob, and Meg's most cherished role as Mama began.

Meg was intelligent, strong-willed, funny, caring, and fiercely loyal. She loved and was loved by her family, her friends, and her dog, Thurman. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind her brother, John Haines, and his wife, Rachel; brother, Samuel Haines, and his wife, Annie; and sister, Abigail Smith, and her husband, Geoffrey. She will be remembered always by her nieces, Yvonne, Eliza, and Lydia; as well as her nephews, Benjamin, Maxwell, Jack, and Alexander. She is also survived by her stepmother, Mary (Merrick) Haines; brother-in-law, Brett Boyd; and Brian's mother, Barbara Hull Kochon; and stepfather, Kent Kochon.

All are cordially invited to a Visitation on May 22 at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 98 Bedford Street, BRIDGEWATER, from 4-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on May 23 at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Bridgewater, 50 School St, Bridgewater, at 11 am. Burial at Central Cemetery in East Bridgewater will be private.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Bryson and Jacob Boyd Educational Fund, in memory of their mother Meg Boyd, to support future educational expenses for both of her surviving children.
