What a tragedy ! Ms.Benn you say you don't know what to think right now I'm sure words are at a loss especially in a situation as this but let me say the words for you God has such loving concern for bereaved ones. What are the words from God ? John 5 :28, 29 Do not marvel at this the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his (God ) voice and come out. Isn't that wonderful? it is called the resurrection, we are all looking forward to seeing our dead loved ones again. We are truly sorry for your loss. 14128 S. My condolences to the Hill family and friends. Marquis Hill was a Super Bowl Champion on the field with the Patriots but, he was a greater Champion in his life off the field. Dear family I will like to extend my condolenses out to your family, Also it strange because me and my girlfriend was at the beach with some friends on 6/2/2007, we decided to ride the jet ski, but 30 minutes before we got on I was speaking to the rest of the my friends about this incident with Marquise and everyone was in shock and sadend by these events. My girlfreind wanted to get on the jet ski, so we did it, but our jet ski flip over in the ocean ten minutes later in cozumel mexico, lucky someone seen us and came and rescued us minutes later but he could not do it alone they had to call for back up to finish the rescue, but even with a life jacket on I was very terrified and the only thing I was thinking about was Marquise and his friend and how would he handle this situation, even being scared I did not display it in front on my girlfriend becuase she was very terrified, I immediate push her to the jet ski and started driting away slowy with a life jacket on, and at the same time trying to keep my girlfriend calm. I'm very lucking to be alive to tell this story but I will never ride a jet ski again and I very sorry for your loss but as strange as it sounds, It seems like Marquise was right there watching over me and my girlfriend the whole entire time. Marquise I love you and THANK YOU for watching over me and my girlfriend and giving me courage.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I did not know Marquise Hill until today as I read through the first three pages of this guest book dedicated to Marquise. Every entry has said it and I have got to believe that Marquise is truly a man after GOD's own heart. No one knows why this happened to Marquise, save the Almighty. At times like this I suggest that rather than wonder why, those of you who love Marquise Hill remember at least one personal characteristic of his that you admire and/or at least one memorable experience you shared with this "gentle giant" and receive them as gifts from your beloved Marquise. It is OK to be angry with GOD, but stay close to our HEAVENLY FATHER. I have come to know and love Marquise from the words in this guest book. You and Marquise remain in my prayers.
God Bless you always and in all ways,

Today God, you've taken away a person that his family & friends loved dearly.

Now their lives will be changed forever and that is a burden they will have to bear.

All I ask is that you take good care of him because now he is in your hands, and to help those still here to understand.

We know that he is going to be with them every step of the way
And at times things may get tough and they may not know what to say,

That's when they will think of you and what you might say.

We know that you would like them to continue on and be strong.

Trust me, they will try their best even though it all seems completely wrong.

As they prepare to say their final Good-bye the tears begin to flow,

They now know that the healing process will be slow.
By the grace of God they know that they can work through this if they all stick together. When people ask how they are doing, they don't know what to say. Yes their tears are still there, Only because they lost someone who really cared.
As they look for you in all the places you normally are, they begin to realize that you aren't very far. Your where you've always been in their heart, Which lets them know that their lives will never be dark.

God I ask that you help them through these tough times, and to let them know that they will be just fine.

You left many task undone, and your shoes no one can fill, I mean, no one.

As the days go by it will get easier to smile, Because you left so many good memories with them that can and will go for miles.

The pain will become less and less,
With you and God looking down on them they feel truly blessed.
Yes they miss you, and that is very true.

Now you're in God's hands,

And that's something they will have to understand.

I did not know him personally. I truly understand what a tough time family & friends are going thru. Family & Friends are in my prayers, God Bless!

He was still a true gentleman until the end. Encouraging and keeping someone's else faith up while he too faced death. To the family and friends of Marquise in times like these we never know exactly what to say. I know what its like to lose a sibling, But I also know what it is like to find faith in the word of God which says look to the hill from which cometh your help your help cometh from the lord. Always remember that God knows how you feel, because he gave his only son for us all.

Ms. Hill, you are a blessed mother to have raised a respectable young man. Only prayers and faith could have gotten you this far and I'm sure you know that's what it's going to take to continue from this day forward. I send my sympathy and encouragement. To the family and loved ones of Marquise Hill.
I received a story via email once that spoke about the day a person is born and the day they go "Home." It stated: It's not important, the date you are born, nor the date you go "home." What is important, is the (-) dash in between those dates.

The media said that this young man helped those that suffered during Hurricane Katrina; and others that were in need. God looks at your works, not that you sit in church on Sunday. He looks at your works... It seems as if Marquise works were complete and the Lord can truly say, "A job well done.

"A Leaf has fallen from the tree.... No one noticed, just you and me."

You are blessed to have had, and learned from example set by this angel of the Lord.

I first met Marquise two years ago when he was doing volunteer work through the United Way. He was one of four New England Patriots who were building a wheelchair ramp for a poor old woman.

Marquise was the biggest man out there that day in terms of physical size, and in terms of heart. He pitched right in and did more than his share of the labor that needed to get done; and did it with a smile! After the work was done, he took the time to go inside of the house and visit with the lady just to show that he cared.

He and I talked a few times over the telephone after that day and became friends. Mainly he sought my counsel about Finance and how he might be able to set aside $$$ for the benefit of his family. Also because as a former Army Colonel I have counseled dozens of young men just like him.

Marquise was a man with a big heart who will indeed be missed.

To the Hill Family,

I met and worked with Marquise in the summer of 2003. At the time, my son was 11 years old; he was beginning to play basketball.
One day, my son came to work with me; there he met Marquise. He was in awe of this gentle giant.
A few days later, Marquise presented me with a football, signed by the entire 2003 LSU team, as a gift and inspiration to my son.
My son is now 15; a dedicated athlete in his own right. We have talked about Marquise for days now. His goodness and grace will indelibly be etched in the hearts of a young man and his mom.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
