NEILSON, Marshall Rawle Age 45, of Concord, Sept. 8, 2016. Loving husband for 13 years of Elizabeth (Dixon) Neilson and adored father of Beatrice (age 11), Parker (age 9), and Molly (age 4), all of Concord. Son of Judy Neilson of Concord and Benjamin Neilson and his wife Meta of Bryn Mawr, PA. Brother of Jamie Neilson and his wife Stephanie of Pasadena, CA, Theo (Neilson) Clark and her husband James of Viera, FL, Johanna Neilson Boynton and her husband John of Concord and Alberta Neilson and her husband Peter Mundy of San Francisco, CA. Step brother of Alix Strong of Keeau, HI, Andrea Grace and Mark Jenkinson of Plymouth Meeting, PA, and Gene Grace of McLean, VA. Son-in-law of Edward and Pamela Dixon of Concord and brother-in-law of Molly (Dixon) Flanagan of Petaluma, CA. Also survived by many, many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Tuesday, Sept. 13th at 12 pm in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial following at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours are Monday, Sept. 12th from 3 to 8 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Marshall was my brother--beloved and, now, dearly missed. He embodied all the good people have said. I'm moved to write, though, by the note from the nurses on this page. Their care for him was inspiring, unstinting, and in all ways, miraculous. How so many individuals can act with such empathy and energy in unison is a wonder. God bless those nurses, and God bless my brother Marshall.

Marshall Neilson was a dear friend, a husband beyond compare, a father like no other, and a man who dedicated his life to others. Whether he was teaching his students, laughing with colleagues in faculty room, eating cake, engaging in hilarious repartee on social media with friends, like Jason Savage or Christopher Lawrence, holding his children or celebrating their joys and accomplishments: B's phenomenal airport's, Parker's ice hockey, Molly's aka Vladimir's latest remarks, he did it all with incredible passion and love. His siblings and family were extensions of this zest and life lines in every sense of that... Liz you were his EVERYTHING❣ I will forever treasure my times with Marshall, his letters in 2010, his love of music, his ability to induce laughter that was organic and side splitting, and most of all, his way of making me feel special and loved. Being a friend of Marshall's is a privilege and feels like being being part of a special family. Liz, thank you for sharing your love with us, and please know that love only grows. May the angels above hold him tight, rock to his grove, eat eat cake, and shower him with with all the love he gave to us. #thankyou #wearemarshall

From the nurses that provided care on 7A to Marshall these past few months we want to express our deepest condolences to his family and friends. It can not be said enough how much we enjoyed spending time with this man as we got to know him throughout his time here. Truly, he has touched so many of us just by being himself. He was always optimistic, positive and so incredibly appreciative. His pleasant manner, witty jokes and charm will not be forgotten. So many of us are brought to tears by the news of his passing and are thinking about his wonderful family and friends that we met while he was here.
