MARVIN OSTROVSKY Obituary

OSTROVSKY, Marvin C., M.D. Of Salem, NH, formerly of Southborough, MA, departed this world peacefully on February 2, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family. He is pre-deceased by his daughter Deborah. He leaves behind his soulmate and wife of 60 years Sydney, his son Daniel, his daughter Ellen Wittlin, their spouses Jenny and Scott, grandchildren Deborah, Joshua, Benjamin, Sam, and Kara, his sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Larry Liebman, Nancy and Jerry Zidle, and many other close family and friends. Marvin grew up in Everett, Massachusetts before attending Colby College in Waterville, Maine. After graduating, he attended Tufts University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in Pediatrics at the Boston Floating Hospital. He joined the United States Army, where he served as a physician and was honorably discharged at the rank of Major. Following his military service, Dr. Ostrovsky co-founded the multi-specialty Southborough Medical Group and served as President for 28 years. He was a strong advocate for physician and patient-centered health care. However, his greatest professional joy was taking care of the many children in his practice. After retiring at the age of 72, Marvin enjoyed spending time at his home on the lake in Salem, New Hampshire with his family. He was a gentle and generous man whose philosophy of being kind to others, dedicating oneself to making the world a better place, and passing on durable values to his family inspired all the people who knew, admired, and loved him. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 4, at 1:00pm at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon. Shiva information will be available on the Levine Chapels website: www.levinechapels.com In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Beth Israel Department of Medical Oncology or the Colby Fund at Colby College (https://alumni.colby.edu/give/) Levine Chapels - Brookline 617-277-8300 www.levinechapels.com

A sweet gentle giant...I worked in Pediatrics at Southboro Medical Group for many years. Dr. O was a kind compassionate man, always there to help calm a frightened patient or carve the turkey when we all took time to share a Thanksgiving feast. Many fond memories. Heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends.

Marv was, without a doubt, the finest person I have ever known. His integrity, love of family and humanity as a whole, intellect, depth of soul, compassion, character in spades, and humility are all things I will forever treasure and miss. He gave me so much as a colleague and friend, and I am so much the better person because of him. Honestly, I never met anyone like him. I love you, Marv. Please rest in peace.
