Mary DiMatteo Obituary

DiMATTEO, Mary (McKenna) Of Falmouth, March 3, 2009, peacefully in her 89th year. She grew up in Boston, raised her family in Roslindale and spent her retirement in Falmouth MA and Boynton Beach, FL. She was most active in Falmouth as a volunteer in the Elementary School Reading program and member of the Senior Center Bridge Club and Public Library Great Books Group. Beloved wife of the late Orlando, deceased 2006. Loving mother of Ronald DiMatteo of Hyde Park, Kathleen Donahue of Denver, CO, Geraldine Sprague and husband John of Millis, Marianne DiMatteo of Palmyra, PA, Nancy DiMatteo of Falmouth, Susan DiMatteo and partner Mary Flaherty of Roslindale. Loving sister of Thomas McKenna and wife Helen of Reading, sister-in-law of June DeFarias of Warwick, R.I., and Robert DiMatteo and wife Athalene of Palmyra, PA, Predeceased by daughter Margaret Cenzano, (was the wife of Otto Cenzano of LA) son William, sister Marguerite Dillon; brothers James, Robert, Francis, John and the Reverend William McKenna. Delighted grandmother of 10 favorite grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Caring aunt to 21 nieces & nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Celebration on Monday, April 6 at 9:30 A.M. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 840 Sandwich Road, East Falmouth, MA, www.uuffm.org. Visiting hours omitted. Interment at Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne, at 11:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Friends of the New Falmouth Senior Ctr, 300 Dillingham Ave., Falmouth, MA 02540 or Falmouth Public Library, Trustees Fund, 300 Main St., Falmouth 02540
