LEWONTIN, Mary Jane Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully in her sleep at home at age 92 on July 1, with her husband of 73 years at her side. Mary Jane made homes for her growing family in Queens, NY, Raleigh, NC, Rochester, NY, Sydney, Australia, Chicago, IL, Lewes, Sussex, England, Cambridge, MA and Marlboro, VT. A lover of literature, a talented cook, gardener, pianist, seamstress and ceramicist, she had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances and was famed among them for her photographic memory of hundreds of popular song lyrics going as far back as the early nineteen hundreds. Survived by her devoted husband Richard, her four sons David, Stephen, James and Timothy, her seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, she will be greatly missed.
