You remain with us Mary Jeanette, your strong, gentle and loving spirit to lead us bravely under the Flag, and on through life, just as you did 60 years ago when I was a brownie in Cohasset's Memorial Day Parade. God bless your family.

To the Murray Family, I was so sorry to hear about Mary Jeanette, she was a great woman. I remember the old Girl Scout days I had with her. The last time I saw Mary Jeannette was at the Relay for Life some years ago and she had many wonderful things to say about my dad. She will be missed. May God rest her soul and be with you all at this time.

I am sorry for your loss. I met your mother many years ago through my marriage to Paul Carter. He was the grandson of Elizabeth Hurwitz Salemme and the son of Dorothy & Bruce (Salemme) Carter of Dorchester and Revere. I used to see her often when we visited Hull in the summer. Everyone is gone now and lives are not the same. She lived a full life. My sincere sympathy.

Serving eight years in the House with Mary Jeanette was a pleasure. A thoroughly decent human being, outstanding public servant and unequalled role model, she will be missed by many.

The Nation, Massachusetts and Cohasset must now say farewell to a most dedicated and valuable citizen. I recall Mary Jeanette as a delightful, upbeat woman, a good friend and an outstanding Marine and patriot who served her country in time of war with great distinction.

We are all so much the better for having had her pass our way. Semper fi old friend.

My prayers and thoughts are with her and her family. It is surprising that later in life, long after we lost contact and I moved 1500 miles away I met and befriended people who knew her.

To Lillian & Family -

My deepest sympathies on your loss. To any of us who ever got involved in politics, even our little posts in town, Mary Jeannette was the model for learning how to care about people and her constituents. Always a friend and gave me good and welcome advice from time to time while I was a Selectmen. She never let politics get in the way of being friendly, nice and doing the right thing. As she told me, we're all Demopublicans.

To the Family of Representative Murray,
I knew Representative Murray for much of her entire time in the House. She was supportive to all of us who work for the House. She asked me on a number of occasions to write legislation for her and to help move bills she had before our committee.I am proud to have known her, and that she considered me a friend. Your mother/grandmother was a special person. We will all miss her. God Bless her and confort you all.

Sincere sympanthy from your California cousin. Lil, I have fond memories of time spent with you and your Mom way back when. I am grateful I got to see both of you last year. My Mom was telling me that she remembered being in your parents wedding and how in love they were. I know your parents are holding hands and smiling on you from heaven - they are your angels and will touch your life in unexpected ways ...forever. I hope that gives you comfort. Love, hugs and prayers, Julie

We always enjoyed chatting with Mary Jeanette at all sorts of places in and around Cohasset. She was a front line fixture in the Memorial day parades in her forest green uniform. She helped one of our relatives then in the armed forces return stateside from Europe to attend his father's funeral for which the family was very grateful. We enjoyed swapping political gossip about life at the State House when I was a state official.
I also recall her father's WWI YD helmet on the table in her front hallway at home.
Sincere sympathies to the family.

I'm saddened by the death of your mother. Growing up in Charlestown and "Living" at the Boys Club I anticipated the Nate Hurwitz Basketball tournament as much as Christmas. When I became the Physial Ed. director in the early 80's I loved being part of this event. Your Mother would attend the finals when her schedule allowed and she would tell us of the days her father ran the gym and how she would do her homework in the balcony while he coached and Ref'd Basketball. She had a pretty good set shot herself. Strength, determination and class; her example was a gift to us all.
