To Peter and the Reilly and Quinlan Families - I was saddened to learn from the Holy Cross Magazine about Mary Jo's death. Mary Jo and Peter were a perfect couple in college and looked as young and in love now as they were in college when I would see them with their extended at Mass or around town here in Andover. Please accept my deepest condolences.

To the Reilly and Quinlan families. I found out yesterday that Mary Jo had passed away and I was speechless. I grew up on Andover Street next door to the Reilly's. Mary Jo and Michael were 6 months older than my twin brother and I. I recall endless summer days playing together as friends then competing as team mates on the Lowell high tennis team, always in matching outfits! You could not have asked for a better friend growing up. Although the years have passed and we lost touch, I will always have those childhood memories, memories that I will cherish forever. My heart is full. My deepest sympathy to all the family.

When I remember Mary Jo, I think of her energy. I don't remember a time when we were together, when she wasn't lifting a shoulder, tossing her head, fluttering her hands and always, always laughing and smiling. Love for her family and her life exuded from her every pore. And you were always delighted to see Mary Jo when you walked into a room. Not a bad legacy to leave behind.

Peter, Michael and the entire Quinlan/Reilly family,
Our deepest sympathy on the loss of Mary Jo. As twins, we always felt a kinship to Mary Jo and Michael and remember fondly when Peter and Mary Jo met and fell in love. Although we have lost touch over the years we have so many wonderful memories of our years at Lowell High and the countless hours in the Reilly playroom behind the garage. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I was so sad to hear of Mary Jo's passing. It really is hard to believe that she is gone. I will always remember her smile in the hallways at LHS and especially the brightest smile that she had for you, Peter. She was an inspiration to us all. My thoughts are with you and your family.

It is with a heavy heart as I write to offer my heartfelt condolences on the loss of Mary Jo. Since I heard of Mary Jo's passing I have been thinking alot about the good times we all shared. The LHS football games, the Road, Lefty's, Callery Park, Janas Rink and let us not forget Porky's house just about every saturday night. Those memories are so clear it is hard to believe how many years have actually passed. Mary Jo will live on in all who knew and loved her.

May God bless and guide you through the difficult days ahead.
My deepest sympathies.

Peter, Mathew, Jennifer, Michael,
The respective Christmas card exchange teetered during the past year or so and with it the visual memory of the Quinlan family that Oscar and I had not interacted with since all of our children were mere tots or merely a dream of the future.
My sole mental implant of MaryJo that is referred to to this day is via a recipe that she gave to me after lunching with her - pre-marriage - at her home and on the dessert menu was the most outrageously tasteful chocolate tart; its' principle ingredient being Heath Bars.
Yes; I do still have that recipe.
I stumble in my attempt to capture the decisive message of condolence and shall therefore offer in its' rawness, my deepest regret and love.

Dear Peter and family,

I was so saddened to hear of Mary Jo's passing away. While we have not stayed in touch since the old BKB days, my memories of Mary Jo are just so vivid. She had the greatest smile and laugh and always made being around her so wonderful and enriching. She will always be remembered as someone who added such warmth and joy to each interaction and made our work environment a so much better place.
She will be missed by all and I extend my greatest sympathy to you and your family at this difficult time. I will be thinking of all of you during these next couple of days.

Dear Peter,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the children, Mr. and Mrs. Reilly, Michael and everyone whose lives were made brighter and more loving by Mary Jo's presence. I have so many lovely, sweet memories of Mary Jo including the day she laid eyes on you for the very first time at the Janis Skating Rink and fell in love. immediately. instantly. forever. To me, Mary Jo epitomizes grace, quiet strength, commitment, fortitude and profound love of family. And I just drove by Nashoba Valley Ski Area on Sunday afternoon and laughed with my sister about the fun Mary Jo and I had when we learned to ski there together in the 8th grade. I am heartbroken by this news. With Love, Liz

Dear Pete,
We are all heartbroken to hear this crushing news. Mary Jo's warmth touched all of us and was always immediate and genuine. We could not have asked for a kinder person to be the mother of Chris' room mate at Exeter. Her shinning smile and gentle ways made everyone feel welcome and safe. We will keep all of you in our hearts as you make your way through this painful journey and trust that Heaven has welcomed in an angel. With love, Jim, Essie, Dan, and Chris Powers
