BEAUREGARD, Maryellen (Callery) Age 62, of Newburgh, NY, died on November 19, 2025. She passed away peacefully, at her home, after a courageous three-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was born in Lowell, MA, on February 22, 1963, to Attorney Paul F. Callery and Virgina (Talty) Callery of Lowell. Maryellen graduated from Lowell High School in 1981 and earned a B.A., Business Management from Suffolk University in 1985. Maryellen began her married life in Cranston, RI, where she was employed at Jewelry Concepts as a fashion jewelry buyer until her sons, Cameron and Colin, started to arrive in 1995. The family made Rhode Island their home until her husband's career took them to Kansas in 2006. While still in RI, Maryellen served in several roles (including President) with the Hope Highlands PTA. Whether it was organizing an Orchard Valley block party, raising money for the PTA or convincing her friends to pack the car full of kids for a trip to the beach, Maryellen always gave her children the best experiences growing up. Manhattan, Kansas was a big move for Maryellen and her young family. However, she continued to be a force at a new PTA and kept busy driving her two boys to their countless team practices and tournaments. It did not take long for Maryellen to develop friendships in the "Little Apple," and her boys were blessed to have a mom who was quick to offer up her home for all the post season pool parties and other team celebrations. Maryellen also began a new career as a substitute teacher, where she served USD 383 for almost ten years and for an additional eight years in other communities after leaving Kansas. Subsequent moves took Maryellen to El Paso, Texas in 2016 and to the Hudson Valley of New York in 2020. She developed a passion for hiking and backpacking while in the Franklin Mountains of El Paso and she brought that same enthusiasm to New York, where she established new friends while hiking in the Catskills. Her quick wit (and sarcasm) served her well in keeping the students at James I. O'Neil HS (Highland Falls, NY) on their toes right up until her last few weeks. Maryellen loved to be fashionable and was always known for her bright outfits and flashy jewelry. Her personality was even brighter than her outfits and she will be deeply missed by her many friends and family members. Besides her parents; Maryellen was predeceased by her sister, Michele Callery; and brothers, Paul and Peter Callery. She is survived by her husband, Brian Beauregard (originally from Chelmsford, MA); and two sons, Cameron and Colin, all currently living in Newburgh, NY. She is also survived by sisters, Beth Callery of Olmstead Township, OH, Martha Callery and her companion, David Foster, of Stoneham, MA; brother, John Callery and his wife, Stephanie, of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews who she adored. Visiting Hours: A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 2, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Lowell, MA. Calling Hours at the church begin at 10:00 am, with a Mass to follow, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, at
