Matthew PICCIONE Obituary

PICCIONE, Matthew B. Age 60, of Winchester (born in Somerville) passed away suddenly on September 7, 2025. Matthew was the devoted husband of 33 years to Eileen (Hyland) Piccione of Winchester (born in Chelsea). He was the loving father of Corey, Casey, Bridget and Tara Piccione of Winchester. Beloved son of the late Matthew R. and the late Constance Piccione of Winchester; and brother of the late Mary Piccione of Winchester. He is survived by his sister, Anne (Piccione) Fiore of Stoneham; his in-laws, Margaret (Dalton) Hyland (wife to late Michael Hyland), Kathryn (Hyland) Melesciuc and Stephen Melesciuc, Patricia (Hyland) O'Flaherty, Eugene O'Flaherty and Kenneth Hyland. He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and colleagues.

Matt was, above all, a family man: a devoted husband and father. Nothing brought him greater joy than time spent with Eileen and their four daughters. He had a lifelong love of travel, spending the past decade exploring dozens of countries and states with Eileen by his side. A true music enthusiast, he especially cherished the sounds of The Beatles and Elvis Presley. He loved summers on the Cape, hosting gatherings at his family home in Winchester, where he had lived since childhood and sharing laughter and memories with lifelong friends. Matthew loved to make people laugh and had a smile that would light up a room.

Professionally, Matthew studied at Boston University and went on to become a successful real estate developer and self-made entrepreneur. He took immense pride in his work and was respected and admired by colleagues and business partners alike.

Family and friends are invited to Visiting Hours at Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St., WINCHESTER, on Friday, September 12, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at Wildwood Cemetery, 34 Palmer St., Winchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Matthew's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Above all, Matt will be remembered for the love and devotion he gave to his family and friends, which will continue to live on in the lives he touched. Lane Funeral Home

Matt was a really good guy. I enjoyed many hours talking with Matt about business and much more. He loved his family very much and led a very full life that would be the envy of most.

I will miss you very much, Matt. I wish we could sit down for a cold one just one more time.
