Mel was a scholar and a gentleman. He always shared the news about his family and what they were doing and how much he cared about them. I worked with him for many years at DCAMM where he supported the work done by all of the women of DCAMM. He was a mentor, a therapist at times, a patron of the arts. He opened my eyes to a world of art and i started to collect. One of our last conversations was a FaceTime where i showed him my "collection"! I am sure he was wondering what the heck i was doing but was so very gracious. His kindness and caring helped me maneuver a workplace that was often difficult and i will be forever grateful to him. Mel, Alana, Nancy and i never made it together to the retirement home in Boca but you will be there in spirit when we do! Boston has lost a huge blessing!
