Michael HURLEY Obituary

HURLEY, Michael G. Sr. Age 71, of Wrentham, passed on October 22, 2025. Beloved husband of Karen M. (Olson) Hurley.

Born in Boston on March 23, 1954, he was the son of the late James and Kathryn (Oakes) Hurley.

Michael proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1973-1976 with an honorable discharge at the end of his commitment. His military experience laid the foundation for a strong work ethic. He became an employee with B&M Railroad and various companies

running the commuter rail from Boston to all the north and south-side lines. He started as a tower and bridge operator and then spent most of his career as a conductor. He also worked for many years as a fence builder/installer with some close friends. Retired

president of the Good N You association. He had many hobbies in his own home. He was thrilled to have received his Irish Citizenship. He was a proud father of three sons who each went on to build their own careers with the commuter rail, carrying on his legacy.

In addition to his wife Karen, Michael is survived by three sons; Michael Hurley, Jr. and his wife, Lauren of Bellingham, Peter Hurley and his wife, Shannon of Mendon and Sean

Hurley of Blackstone; his siblings, James Hurley, Kathryn Tildsley, Marilyn Wall, Elaine Ryan, Jeanne Cosby and Maureen Donovan. Also, survived by his grandchildren, Cayce, Emerson, Charlotte, Hadley and Michael, III; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 1 P.M., in the Beacons Restaurant, 85 Providence Highway (Rte. 1), East Walpole. Burial will be private and at a later date, at the National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.

Sad to read this news. Mikey was an old childhood friend from Mission Hill. He was part of the gang that went to Mission Grammar...very smart and a good kid. Lost touch with him after Grammar School...moved and went to high school (perhaps Xaverian or CM?). Gone too young, sounds like he lived a great life with his family & friends. My condolences-RIP,Mikey.
