Mike...who am I going to get to fill in for our "One Hit Wonder Club"?... I know it was just the two of us but leaving me high and dry like this isn't fair... I miss you...Larry, your favorite broth-in-law.

Sorry for late note, but I was out of the country and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I can't believe Mike is not here anymore. We worked together for many years. Words cannot express my feelings. He was a guy you could talk to on practically any subject. Always upbeat and full of life and laughter. I will always remember him as a friend, mentor and practical joker. Rest in peace my friend.......

My Child
(One of many poems that Mike shared with me for critiquing and discussion. ..)
What have I set in motion with you?
What was my wish before you came true?
You do the many things I cannot do.
I take my pride in just knowing you.
Forever you will be my little one,
No matter the many years you run.
I marvel at you as you hit your stride
The fading king rises to step aside.
Time was unending back then.
Time now an enemy. And when
I sue for peace I'll be a guest
And the mighty force grant the request.

Mike, you helped to keep the world in the beautiful imbalance that it needs to keep spinning. You cared about things enough to be troubled by them, and at the same time, you never failed to bring smiles and laughter to everyone around you. You were a philosopher and a comic. A poet and a madman. An engineer and a lost wanderer... and yes, you were my friend.

Thinking of Mike and sending prayers to the Monahan family. Worked with Mike many years ago and we had a blast. He helped keep "what life" was all about in focus as we worked through some stressful times at work. Will miss hanging out with Mike and having some tremendous laughs. The comedy show in Heaven will surely be sold out on a regular basis now.

So sad to hear of Mike's passing. Mike was a caring individual who would go out of his way to help. Mike entertained so many of us with his great stories shared over the Bose lunch table. Mike was a class act who will be missed. Prayers to his family and close friends.

The world will laugh less and cry more with the loss of Mike. My condolences to his children and family. In my mind I have a picture of my late husband Joe Black and Mike up in Heaven having a good laugh together.

My prayers are with Mike's family. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Mike. Always there to help and always had an opinion on just about any topic. I will remember his philosophical rambelings over coffee in the cafeteria.

I was a colleague of Mike and spent many mornings with him and fellow colleagues having breakfast and sharing a laugh with our morning coffee. Mike was the guy in the lab I would turn to when a heel of my shoe needed fixing. He would always stop whatever he was doing to help me and he never failed to make me laugh. My condolences to his children and family. May the memories you shared bring you some comfort during this difficult time.

Mike hung out in my neighborhood through his high school years. We spent many hours up in a huge maple tree in my front yard with a pack of friends, laughing and passing the time together, listening to music and being silly. We didn't keep in touch in later years, but would always find time at DHS '73 reunions to laugh and have fun together again. My condolences to his family and friends. So sorry to hear of his passing.

Oh my gosh. He was one of the ones to count on. If I were in touch with my feelings this would hurt a lot. Still too shocked. Just staring at the screen. Mike would have a good insight now at a time like this. I had lost touch with him and his family but he left a mark that I cherish.

A very shocking loss of a very loving father. Easily one of the funniest friends I've had the pleasure of knowing. He helped to make the environment of working an enjoyable space. I'm at a loss of words. God Bless and Godspeed to his family and friends.
