MICHAEL J. SWEENEY

SWEENEY, Michael J. Of West Roxbury, November 18, 2022. Beloved husband of Dorothy E. (McCusker) Sweeney. Cherished father of Matthew J. Sweeney, Timothy M. Sweeney, David J. Rutledge, all of West Roxbury, and the late Joseph T. Rutledge who he joins in paradise. He also leaves the love of his life, Leela Ann Sweeney, his precious granddaughter, who will miss her Papa. He will be greatly missed by his sister, Judith Sweeney Benjamin of Roslindale as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Mike grew up in Roslindale and graduated from Catholic Memorial after which he served in the US Army, a proud Veteran of Vietnam. Mike worked for the US Postal Service for over fifty years, many of which were spent delivering mail from the Wellesley Post Office. He will be remembered as an avid fan of all the New England sports teams, especially the Red Sox. He spent many hours at the Little League Complex cheering on his sons, and all the kids.
