Dr Carroll imparted a joy for the practice of Medicine and helped shape the ethics and character of several new generations of physicians . I am honored to have been one of them and to have had the pleasure of knowing him and the benefit of working with him. My condolences to his family.

I first met Dr. Carroll in 1985 when I began working at Carney Hospital. I have never met a finer man. He was an exceptional surgeon, kind and caring to his patients and staff, warm and generous in so many ways to everyone who came in contact with him. One of my favorite memories of him is his sense of humor and ready laugh. He always had to hold onto someone's shoulder when he heard a good joke so he didn't fall down. Wednesday afternoon's were the men's golf afternoon and Dr. Carroll was always ready for a round of golf. I am truly heartbroken to hear of his passing because I absolutely adored him. He was a great man. My deepest sympathy Mrs. Carroll, Lisa and family.

My wife and I were so sorry to hear about Dr. Carroll's passing. He is a man I will always admire and look up to. At one time he was my Chief of Surgery at the Carney Hospital and I cannot say enough about how welcoming and helpful he was to me on any occasion we crossed paths. He was a true gentleman. Our thoughts are with him and his family during this very difficult time.

I had the great opportunity to work with this wonderful man for 30+ years. He was a true gentleman, honorable and respectful. He cared so much for so many. He was always so proud of his family and friends. He always had a great smile and was always there to mentor. I will miss him so much. RIP Dr. Carroll.

Very sorry to hear of Dr. Carroll's passing. He was a great guy with a great sense of humor, not to mention a well respected physician. I knew him from many years at Carney. My condolences to the Carroll family.

We are truly saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Carroll. He cared for our father for several years before he passed away at age 52. Dr. Carroll was the most amazing doctor and such a wonderful person. He was so compassionate and kind, that we still think of him so many years later and appreciate the kindness he bestowed on our father (us too). Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family. - The Richards Family

So many memories over the years of this wonderful person. From working with him as a nurse in the Carney ER to his letter of recommendation when I went off to medical school to being a patient, colleague and friend. Most of all a role model of kindness and professionalism. My heart goes out to his family

I shall miss Doc on Sunday mornings at church. We had many a laugh and teasing from both sides. As we say/said in the U.S. Navy "Bravo Zulu on a job well done" and "We have the watch" my friend.
