My dear friend, Nancy Potter, was a second mother to me, and a mother to all kinds of people. She had lost her only daughter and child to the disease I once had--aplastic anemia--which is how we initially met. After her daughter died, she returned a year later to the hospital to research what caused this fatal disease. When I was out of the hospital, I wanted to do something to help and ended up assisting her in her research for a while. Eventually, when I moved to Florida with my future husband, and was having trouble finding a place for our wedding, Nancy offered up her home. That was vintage Nancy. Always offering up something to help someone. We got married in her backyard and our son learned how to swim in her swimming pool. I've had so many joyous times with Nancy and when I needed someone to listen to my woes, she was there--always. In life, we meet certain people along the way who make a huge difference in our choices and how we feel. Nancy was one of those people for me, and I saw firsthand, over many decades, how she was one of those extra rare and dear people for so many. Bless you, beloved Nancy, for your intrepid, joyful, authentic, and beautiful heart. Much love, Jessica, Barr, and Sam Keener

After Amy´s death in 7th grade, Mr. & Mrs. P. became like 2nd parents to me. Nancy was always a wonderful role model. God bless her as she is reunited with her family in heaven.

I knew "Mrs. Potter" when I was a teenager. She was a kind person whom I trusted. I felt very bad for her when Amy passed because I knew how much she loved Amy. It was a very sad time. But she carried on. Nancy was a generous person who helped people. And she seemed to always be smiling and upbeat. I remember her very fondly.
