I am shocked and saddened to learn of Norman's passing. I worked alongside Norman for many years and was always inspired by his kindness, decency and erudition. His writings leaves a legacy of scholarship which will inspire future generations of Jewish youth in their search for meaning.
Hamakon yenachem, God will comfort Roz, Robert, Lisa and Jeffrey as you deal with your painful loss. Know that those of us who treasured Norman, are thinking of you as you struggle to cope with the pain of you loss.
Much love to the wonderful Finkelstein. family.

Baruch Dayan Ha'emet. My deepest sympathy to the family. I never met Norman in person, but we spoke on the phone, author to author, and his warmth, kindness and compassion shined through and left an impression. I had hoped to meet him in person, but that never came true. May his memory be a comfort and a blessing to his family, friends, and fans.

As a Brookline public school librarian, Norm was a positive, supportive colleague; he was an interesting conversationalist, always curious and asking good questions-a pleasure to spend time with!

Dear Rozzie and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Norman, you and I were Chelsea High classmates, Norman and I kept in touch through these years. He was a mensch; always with a smile and kind word.
He never forgot his roots, and did much to instill Judaic values. I was heartbroken, when I heard of his passing.
